Set up your venue

Before you take your first reservations, there are five settings to fill in, in this order. This page gives the sequence; each step links to the page that details it.

1. Fill in your venue information: the name, contact details, time zone, and country. The time zone drives your reservation times and the country the format of phone numbers, which is why this step comes first. See Venue information.

2. Choose your guests’ language. You write your content in a primary language and Service translates it into the additional languages you offer. Set this before you write your services and messages, so they are translated from the start. See Your guest content languages.

3. Lay out your floor plan. Create your sections and tables so Service can place reservations, then define table combinations to seat larger groups. See The floor plan and tables and Table combinations.

4. Create your services. A service is a booking period that recurs every week, a lunch or a dinner, with its own hours and rules. See Services.

5. Turn on online reservations. Switch on your booking page, which your guests open from a link, or embed the widget on your website. See Turn on online reservations.

Once these five steps are in place, you are live: your guests can book.
