Reviews on your website
Answers to your satisfaction survey become reviews published on your website, signed with the guest’s first name and initial. The survey itself is described in Configure the satisfaction survey.
What the guest agrees to
Section titled “What the guest agrees to”The survey carries the Do not publish my review checkbox, unticked by default, with a notice explaining publication on the restaurant’s website. A guest who ticks it is never published. Answers given before that checkbox existed are never published either.
Publishing reviews
Section titled “Publishing reviews”Once the website is created, the Publishing on your website card is in the guest feedback settings. Before that, a line there gives the number of reviews ready to be published, with a link to create your website.
SettingsGuest feedbackThe Publish reviews switch shows or hides your website’s Reviews page. It is the same setting as the Reviews entry in the navigation, see Pages and navigation.
The card also shows the number of published reviews: the website’s Reviews section shows from 5 published reviews. It repeats the Verification notice shown with the reviews: “Every review comes from a guest who booked and dined with us.” Only reviews from the last 12 months are published.
While the site is not online, the card says the reviews will appear on it once it is.
Each review’s status
Section titled “Each review’s status”Once the website is created, the Website column of the feedback list gives each review’s status, and a filter shows only one status.
Feedback| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Published | The review is on the website. |
| Ready to publish | The review can be published, but is not on an online site yet. |
| Hidden | Your team removed it from the website, for a reason. |
| Declined by the guest | The guest ticked “Do not publish my review”. |
| Before publication | Answer given before the checkbox: never published. |
| Over 12 months old | Too old for the website. |
Hiding a review
Section titled “Hiding a review”On a published or ready-to-publish review, the status badge offers Hide from the website…. A rating can’t justify hiding a review: choose a Reason from Abusive or discriminatory remarks, Off-topic (not about the visit) or Contains personal data, with Details (optional) visible to your team only.
The badge of a hidden review shows the reason, the details, who hid it and when, with Republish.
