Your website

Service creates and hosts your venue’s website: your menus, your photos, your pages and the Book button. You prepare it from the settings:

SettingsWebsite

The section is open to the Owner and to Managers. Its sub-pages (Home page, Pages, Menus, Photos, Appearance, Domain) appear once the site is created.

The Create your venue’s website screen shows the Website address Service assigns to it. You can add your own domain name later, see The domain name. The Create the website button prepares the site. Nothing is visible to your guests until it goes online.

While the site is not online, the screen lists the steps left:

  • Your contact details and opening hours — taken from the Venue screen, Address and Opening hours tabs.
  • Add a cover photo — in Home page, see The home page.

Once the steps are done, the screen asks you to check the opening hours, the address and the phone number as the site will show them.

The Preview button opens the site in a new tab, as it will be online. Your guests do not see it.

The Put online button opens a confirmation that gives the address where your guests will see the site. It stays disabled while a step is missing, or while the venue does not have the Website add-on, its subscription is not activated or a direct debit has failed: a banner gives the reason. The Owner adds the add-on from that banner or from billing, see Add-ons. A Manager is told to ask the Owner.

Each website screen saves with its Unsaved changes bar. On an online site, the save is published automatically: Updating your website… shows next to the status, then Website up to date. On a screen that edits one page of the site, the View website button opens that page online; before going online, it is Preview.

If an update could not be published, a banner says so with the date of the online site. Service retries automatically, and the Retry button restarts the publication.

On an online site, the More actions menu offers Take offline. The confirmation spells out what changes:

  • the Book button disappears from your website;
  • the address assigned by Service no longer shows anything; a connected domain name shows only your contact details and opening hours.

Menus, photos, text and settings stay in place. The Put back online button publishes the site again.

If the Website add-on ends, the site goes offline and a banner says so. Its content is kept, and the banner gives the date on which a connected domain name will be detached.
